GDGIS SPORTS MUN-2020 held, Singapore and Sharjah schools also took part
GDGIS SPORTS MUN-2020 conference was held on December 30-31, 2020. Sports was introduced for the first time in MUN. Over 100
delegates registered and 25 schools participated, including the schools from
International press committee members took interviews and submitted their reports. IPL 1 & 2 submitted team chart sheet as their agenda was IPL auctions. While the rest of the committees submitted the resolution. A total of 21 students envisioned and organised the event.
The aim of the conference was to enhance co-curricular activities and sports in schools all over the country during the pandemic for a healthy youth development. Encouraging lifelong involvement in sports and physical activities in order to provide healthier, safer, and prosperous communities was another objective.
A spokesperson of the school said, “Due to the
lockdown, children were stuck behind the walls, hence our school encouraged the
students to organise this event, which took almost 6 months. When we floated
the event, we just invited the schools of the city and nearby towns. But as the
days passed, due to the hard efforts of team and the uniqueness of the event,
we got tremendous response from not only our country but also from
The students, parents and their families were overwhelmed and amazed to know that Model United Nation can also be followed in the field of sports and were equally happy for the appreciation from a national platform.
