Bhikkhu Sanghasena  Chandigarh : Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), over 3-decades old educational and spiritual NGO based in Leh (Ladakh) has appealed to the international medical community to extend their support to the health services in remote Himalayas . Doctors are given a call to join the Global Doctors Association of the Himalaya (GDAH). The medical care available in the high Himalayas is inadequate for the local communities. There are not enough well-equipped hospitals with qualified doctors. Protection of the Himalayas is highly required: Bhikkhu Sanghasena The  Chandigarh  chapter of Save the Himalayas Foundation (SHF) was formally launched on 2nd April, 2019 at Doon Public School, Sector 21, Panchkula by Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder President, Mahabodhi International Meditation Center (MIMC), Leh. Sanghasena founded SHF in 2016 with the aim of protecting the land, nature, people, culture and values of the Himalayan region.
