Over 100 HR professionals attend regional meet on labour laws

Mohali: Himanshu Kapoor, a resident of Kharrar, has brought to light that Arvindera Electricals, an electrical contracting firm based in Chandigarh has multiple FIR’s of fraud lodged against them. Owned by the father-son duo, Kulbir Sawhney and Gurasees Sawhney, the firm has a track record of very dubious and shady business practices, including cheating and committing fraud with vendors by not paying for materials ordered by them, and then go absconding, alleged Kapoor. In August 2020, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) had filed an FIR against Arvindera Electricals for an alleged fraud of Rs. 6 crores. Recently, another FIR was lodged against them, for a fraud amounting to Rs 5.25 crore at SAS Nagar (Mohali) Phase 1, and the bail application filed by Kulbir Sawhney and Gurasees Sawhney was rejected by the District Court. IT company celebrates Chandrayaan 3's moon landing

Five selected for International Karate Championship in UK

Chandigarh: Five Karate players have been selected for the International Championship in the UK. The chosen names were announced at the recently concluded 4th National Sikh Games Taekwondo Championship recently held in New Delhi under the aegis of the Sikh Games Federation of India. The 4th National Sikh Games Taekwondo Championship occurred at Kant Darshan Public School, New Delhi. In this championship, players Jaspreet Singh, Rupinder Singh, Simran Kaur, and Amandeep Kaur won gold medals, while Ranjit Singh and Jaswinder Kumar won the silver medals, and the bronze medal winners were Jagdeep Singh, Preetam Dass, Balram Hakla, Rohtas Singh, and Amit Kumar. Mumbai:  The Recorded Music Performance Ltd (RMPL) the sole Copyright Society registered by the Government of India for managing Sound Recordings, has filed a suit for copyright infringement for songs played at the Gujarat Titans games played at Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad on behalf of one of its members. It is to be noted that a police complaint for copyright infringement of a song against Punjab Kings (PBKS) has been filed by RMPL in Mohali near  Chandigarh. A police complaint has also been made in Lucknow against Lucknow Supergiants (LSG).
