Bhikkhu Sanghasena gets ‘International Award of Excellence’

  New Delhi:  World renowned Buddhist Spiritual leader, Ven.  Bhikkhu Sanghasena , founder President and Spiritual Director,  Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC ), Leh-Ladakh,  was honoured with the “Respe ct Age International Award of Excellence 2019” at a special program held at India International Centre. The award was presented to Ven Sanghasena for his tireless services to the people of Ladakh particularly the old and destitute. He is also the founder president of Save the Himalayas Foundation. While expressing gratitude to the Respect Age International Foundation, Sanghasena said that service to the old and destitute is one among the highest blessings taught by Lord Buddha and urged everyone to ensure that none of the old persons should remain homeless and disrespectful. Drum Circle for children with special needs held

Chandigarh , 03 Dec, 2019 : The Down Syndrome Support Group India (DSSGI) in association with the Classico Outlet at Food Box, VR Punjab hosted a Drum Circle for children with special needs to celebrate World Disability Day today. The drum circle event was conceived by Ms Shivani Dhillon, founder and operator of both Down Syndrome Support Group India and Classico Outlet.  Her vision and goal is to gear their outlet as an example towards employment opportunities for specially abled children. Shivani’s facebook page “Down Syndrome Support Group India” gives information and motivates parents of children with special needs and Down Syndrome. High Court directs State to submit Status Report on Mohali Dump Yard

Mohali: T he Punjab & Haryana High Court in its latest order, has directed the Punjab Government to file the Status Report by 9 th December, 2019 in the shifting of Mohali Dumping Ground to a village near Dera Bassi. The High Court bench of Justice Daya Chaudhary and Justice Sudhir Mittal recently called for the status report in view of the undertaking given in affidavit by Mr Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary, Department of Local Government, Punjab on 01 May, 2012. The affidavit was given about the time schedule for setting up the solid waste management facility at village Samgauli near Dera Bassi. Sanghasena founded SHF in 2016 with the aim of protecting the land, nature, people, culture and values of the Himalayan region.
