India Book Records honors achievers at the 6th Convocation

New Delhi: India Book of Records (IBR) felicitated achievers and record makers at the 6th Convocation. Achievers from all over the country visited the IBR head office in Faridabad (Delhi NCR). Faridabad:  The India Book of Records (IBR) honoured some of its exceptional stars at an elegant Convocation programme held at the IBR office premises in Faridabad on September 9, 2023. The 11 lucky participants were presented with a memento and sash by Mrs Neerja Roy Chowdhury, Managing Editor of the India Book of Records.  The IBR stars received a warm welcome, exclusive photoshoot, and media spotlight, and they were also given an opportunity to showcase their talent live. Silambam with fire: Aarrush creates sensation with his martial art act

  Chennai : Aarrush Ashok, 8-year school boy from Rajapalayam (Tamil Nadu), has got his name featured for performing Silambam,   a traditional Tamil martial art, with fire burning on both the poles for 50 seconds, as confirmed by the India Book of Records (IBR). Expressing his happiness over getting the record in his name, Aarrush said, “I have always wanted to do our traditional martial art with a twist and have managed to perform it by doing Silambam with fire burning on both poles. When the World is running towards westernization I wanted to excel in one of India ’s famous martial arts 'Silambam', adding a bit of thrill with fire, accomplishing the task at ease and make India proud. Zac Tenny Thomas has set the record of fastest skip counting done by a child. Zac is currently four years and ten months old. He has performed skip counting from the number 2 to 100 in just 3 minutes and 41 seconds. The talented young child originally belongs to Kottayam, Kerala but currently he is based in London, UK. In math, skip counting can be defined as the method of counting forward by numbers other than 1. To skip count, we keep adding the same number each time to the previous number.   Proud and joyous parents of the young boy said, “Zac has always been fascinated by numbers and picked up skip counting on his own by watching TV videos like Number blocks. Dr Gautam Ram Choudhary performs a rare cancer surgery

Jodhpur : Dr Gautam Ram Choudhary of Jodhpur , Rajasthan, is appreciated for removing a huge renal cancer tumour from the kidney. He, and his team, removed this tumour from a 20 years old female patient surviving on a single kidney. In the surgery, they removed the cancerous tumour and left the remaining normal kidney intact and healthy (partial nephrectomy). The tumour measured 18x15 cm in size, weighing 2.084 kg, as confirmed on December 21, 2020 by the IBR team. Dr Choudhary said, “This young lady came to us with large Renal mass. It was a huge cancer tumour in a single functioning kidney, I had never encountered such large tumour in single kidney before this, hence I planned to remove the tumour and at the same time to protect the kidney. She can identify 11 mathematical symbols, nine shapes, recites capitals of 28 Indian states, 13 opposite words, 11 national symbols, days of the week with spellings, months of the year, writing and reciting multiplication tables from 2 to 5, spellings from 1 to 100 and all the 26 English alphabets and reading ten English and Hindi words at the tender age of 3 years and 3 months.  Prisha’s inspiration has been her mother. She took a time span of six months to prepare for all the above activities. Her family is elated to receive appreciation from the India Book of Records.   Visakhapatnam : Kalidindi Hardik Varma of West Godavari , Andhra Pradesh has got appreciation certificate from the India Book of Records (IBR) for participating in the National School Open Chess Championship (under six years) held in November 2019. The National School Open Chess Championship (under six years) 2019 was organised by the All India Chess Federation (AICF). Kalidindi Hardik Varma secured one out of nine points with 110th rank in the competition.   Alappuzha, Kerala : The record for identifying the maximum number of species of dinosaurs was set by Steephan Varghese Sony from Alappuzha, Kerala. Steephan who now lives in Abu Dhabi (UAE), identified the pictures of 119 dinosaurs, with their correct names, within 5 minutes and 29 seconds, at an young age of 5 years, 5 months and 13 days, as confirmed on December 12, 2020 by the India Book of Records. Steephan (born on June 29, 2015) is titled as ‘Grand Master’ for identifying the maximum number of species of dinosaurs.
