Bhikkhu Sanghasena gets ‘International Award of Excellence’

  New Delhi:  World renowned Buddhist Spiritual leader, Ven.  Bhikkhu Sanghasena , founder President and Spiritual Director,  Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC ), Leh-Ladakh,  was honoured with the “Respe ct Age International Award of Excellence 2019” at a special program held at India International Centre. The award was presented to Ven Sanghasena for his tireless services to the people of Ladakh particularly the old and destitute. He is also the founder president of Save the Himalayas Foundation. While expressing gratitude to the Respect Age International Foundation, Sanghasena said that service to the old and destitute is one among the highest blessings taught by Lord Buddha and urged everyone to ensure that none of the old persons should remain homeless and disrespectful. Save the Himalayas Foundation Chandigarh Chapter launched

Protection of the Himalayas is highly required: Bhikkhu Sanghasena The  Chandigarh  chapter of Save the Himalayas Foundation (SHF) was formally launched on 2nd April, 2019 at Doon Public School, Sector 21, Panchkula by Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder President, Mahabodhi International Meditation Center (MIMC), Leh. Sanghasena founded SHF in 2016 with the aim of protecting the land, nature, people, culture and values of the Himalayan region. It focuses on glacier melt due to climate change; developing clean and renewable sources of energy; and promoting responsible, sustainable and eco-friendly tourism. Apart from  New Delhi  and Leh, the other centers are being planned for  Mount Abu ,  Nepal , Europe,  Australia  and  USA . Saving the Himalayas an urgency: Bhikkhu Sanghasena The whole world is troubled by global warming. Scientists are trying to figure out why the global temperature is changing so rapidly. In the meantime, one reason has come to light that short shelf life of our clothes is also responsible for the menace of global warming. According to the statistics of World Economic Forum, nowadays people randomly wear a cloth for a longer time. Clothes are cheaper day by day and are thrown out very soon. Clothing sales have been increasing faster than world GDP. In the year 2000, 50 billion clothes were sold in the world, while in 2015 this number swelled to 100 billion. Due to this, mountains of garbage have come up everywhere.
