Faculty Development Programme concluded

The Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (RCED), Chandigarh, conducted a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on behalf of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), in active association of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran in the last week of February, 2019.

FDP aims at equipping teachers with knowledge and skills that are essential for inculcating entrepreneurial values in students and guiding and monitoring their progress towards entrepreneurial career. Through this FDP, 34 faculty members of different colleges and university in the field of entrepreneurship were trained.

Prof. PN Hricheekesha was the chief guest of the valedictory function, which was also attended by Dr. Rajdeep Singh, Director, CEC, Landran, Prof Manish Mahajan, HOD, CSE, Paramjit Singh, Director, RCED and Balbir Singh, Advisor, RCED.  The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between RCED and CGC Landran.

BCCI and others face music on copyright issues

Mumbai:  The Recorded Music Performance Ltd (RMPL) the sole Copyright Society registered by the Government of India for managing Sound Recordings, has filed a suit for copyright infringement for songs played at the Gujarat Titans games played at Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad on behalf of one of its members. It is to be noted that a police complaint for copyright infringement of a song against Punjab Kings (PBKS) has been filed by RMPL in Mohali near  Chandigarh. A police complaint has also been made in Lucknow against Lucknow Supergiants (LSG). Mr. Sowmya Chowdhury, CEO of RMPL stated that RMPL is on its way to creating a platform in India where all Music Labels registered with RMPL, will get their rightful dues. “We ensure that the users of the music belonging to our members are provided due information about the Copyright Act well in advance. Raiganj’s Biplab Kumar receives appreciation from India Book of Records

Raiganj:  Biplab Kumar Mondal of Karnajora, Raiganj, Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal , has received appreciation from the India Book of Records (IBR) for spreading Covid awareness messages among the people. Mondal spread this awareness in the villages, markets, localities by distributing kites to the kids with awareness messages written on them, by providing masks and offering sanitizers. He also delivered medicines from door-to-door and organized awareness by displaying posters and banners on the motorcycle. Mondal, born on September 1, 1978, said, “I started my activities from the very beginning of the spread of Covid-19 in our country. I went out on my motorcycle, hanging few banners and posters on it to make people aware. I taught the passers-by how to make a mask with tissue paper and a rubber band.
